Largest of the North American herons with long legs, a sinuous neck, and thick, daggerlike bill.

Dessert

Apple Cake

This time of year is the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashana.

This holiday (as many others) has many symbolic foods.

Apples (which are seasonal to the fall) are dipped in honey symbolizing a sweet year to come and the bread (Challah) and cakes are round symbolizing 365 days of health and prosperity.

(G-d we need it with the world crashing around us)

I have added some blueberries to give the cake a bit of variety.
